DIY Tepee | free printable
I made some awesome DIY gifts this year. As always -- if I see something cool, the first thing I do is try to make it. And this tepee was one of those.
I did not want to sew.
And I did not want to put together pvc pipes.
So I made the worlds easiest tepee.
It was under $20 dollars and took less than an hour. (I did have some of the supplies already)
And now I'm the favorite aunt, priceless. #jk
Materials
-2"x1"x8' at Home Depot (have them cut one foot off or desired size if you don't have a saw at home)
-Drill
-Rope
-Canvas drop cloth
-Staple gun
-Fabric scraps
Steps
Take the 2"x1"x7' wood and drill big holes in them 12" down.
(I used my biggest drill bit and drilled three holes by each other to make a giant hole for the rope I was using)
Put the rope through all the holes and situate the tepee how it will stand. Tie a knot at the end. Then wrap the rest of the rope around the teepee until it is strong and sturdy.
Tie a knot, burn the end of the rope.
Take your drop cloth and put it around the tepee structure. Use a staple gun to secure it to the wood frame. Cut off all excess. I cut off all the finished edges to give it a more fringed look.
Dress it up with fabric straps (and leather string)
Print this freebie and you have a tepee.
