Wood Stain | diy
To make your own wood stain it is so so so cheap and so so so easy.
You need a few supplies.
Grade #0000 steel wool
Distiller white vinegar
A sponge or paint brush
Jar with a lid
I had everything around my house except the steel wool. So I spent a few bucks and can make probably 30 jars of stain with that one bag of steel wool. Amazing!
So you use about 3/4 of one of the little steel wools. And kinda pull it apart. Fill the rest of the jar up with vinegar and let it sit.
It needs to sit at least 24 hours. That will give you a light stain. Mine sat for 2 weeks and by the the steel wool was all disintegrated. So the stain was perfect for what I wanted!
The dresser was really worn and I didn't sand it down or anything. I wanted to give it an old wood look. So that's why it's got a lot going on.
The shelves were new wood and it looks like a store bought stain on them.
